I don't think the Israelis in attendance all came on the same plane, but two "rescue planes" were ordered to be sent for them following the violence. Although reports later stated the planes weren't sent in the end. Anyway, the figure I'm citing was what was reported, don't shoot the messenger ;)

I am actually thankful to you for reporting about this - and was truly perplex about the figure of 2500+ supporters. This looks rather high as a batch. It costs a lot to take a plane, to get a hotel, etc etc. It's a luxury to go abroad for a football match so I was thinking that we may have been expecting something like 300 native Israelis definitely doing such trip - but here it's 2500. All the best!
No worries! And yes, it may be quite high, we would have to compare with figures of this team's supporters visiting elsewhere to see if they are similar or not.
