In an NBC News Exclusive today, Tom Llamas — who identifies as a journalist — interviewed Iran’s Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi.
He tells Araghchi that “President Trump has not ruled out boots on the ground in Iran,” and asks Araghchi if he fears a U.S. invasion.
Without any hesitation, Araghchi replies, “No, we are waiting for them.”
A surprised Llamas asks, “You’re waiting for the U.S. military to invade with ground troops?”
The Iranian foreign minister responds, “Yes, because we are confident that we can confront them,” adding, it “would be a big disaster for them.”
Llamas again reflexively asks, “So, you’re saying that Iran is ready and willing to take on the U.S. military,” in its war of choice, including with, “ground troops?
Araghchi responds:
We were ready for this war even more than the previous war. You can see the quality of our missiles [and] how much they upgraded after the last war, because we learned lots of lessons…Our soldiers are prepared for any scenario. We have prepared to confront with any scenario, any eventuality, any possibility.
Llamas then asks if Russia and China support Iran.
Araghchi answers, “They are supporting us politically and otherwise.”
Llamas echos the question once more and Araghchi answers:
Yes, they have always supported us.
